Environment Modelling

Project overview

This project is about making environment in 3d modelling and how to make an  3d environment  from 2d images or converting  from 3d to 2d and apply some textur on them.

In this project there will be exploring the modelling  techniques and process to convert a 2d concept into a 3d environment. recording the process, problems and solution as we progress.

it is required to model and UV a small exterior scene using Maya and need to utilise Photoshop skill in order to create a rang of textures  to submit a complete, textured model.

Briefs knowledge about UV

  •  what is UV
UV is a process of any 2d texture modelling. specially any 3d modelling will be convert in to a 2d then it's going to be textured then it's come again as 3d.
  • UV stand for
UV in 3d modelling stand for uv mapping. This process projects a texture map onto a 3D object. The letters "U" and "V" denote the axes of the 2D texture because "X", "Y" and "Z" are already used to denote the axes of the 3D object in model space. uv mapping stands for the technique used to wrap a 2d images texture onto uv a 3d mesh uv texture permit polygon that make up a 3d object to be obtained with colour from an ordinary images.the image is called a uv texture map. the uv mapping process involves assigning pixels in the images to surface mappings on the polygon, usually done done by copying a triangular piece of the images map and painting it onto a triangle on the object.

  • 0-1 UV Space
V stand bottom to top the vertical arrow  line shows this. U stand for horizontal line from left to right. 0 indicate basically bottom left corner and 1 indicate top right corner.

  • Texture  Maps
texture maps have different types of maps such as colour maps, matelness, roughness, normal  maps , transparency maps.
  • Transfer Maps

  • Texture / UV Terminology

  • Any additional and relevant research

Here we got a project that we have to make a

Mood Board

UV Texturing
I made totally different textured wall from  my project just for experiment

This is my 2nd source of images  for experiment. Here is My texture I took it from google images.

I edited some side proportion because that was not perfectly matched before. i made this as a pettran.

Evaluation

That project was about making an environment. I made our college building. I chose our college building because of source images for making any model we need sources or we have to observe that object or we need at list a drawing. without them it's hard to make a model very quick and perfect. for this project it was easy to observe any thing like windows, doors, bricks and massive car park. although i took lots of picture before I started my project. even while I was working on it I found that I need some more picture immediately I took them. so that's  the main reason why I chose that.
